Paul Frank LipSMACKER Lip Balm

Hola everyone!

Recently I've received a product sample from the Lip Smacker's Paul Frank collection for a product review and this would be my first sponsored product so I am already mad excited in just looking at the pos laju packaging!

I actually stayed home the whole three days just to make sure I don't miss the postman and the oddest thing had to happen. The one time I choose to go out in that three days, is the time THE postman came to send the product. So rather than having the experience of running out the house to get my package, I came home finding it staring at me across my room because momsie had left it there.

....Still, equally excited! #Justsaying.

Anyhoo, I've gotten the Paul Frank Lip Balm in Mika's Sweet Cream and have tested it throughout the week to give you a better review ;)

What is it?
Made out of natural oils, basically, it is a moisturizing lip balm with a hint of delicious scent and taste. (As tagged in the back of the packaging, 'Enjoy a really moisturizing, truly delicious lip gloss that's lickably sweet and such a treat!')

What is it for?
To moisturize your lips on the go. As for me, I always use my lip balm as a base before applying my lipstick / lip gloss. By doing so, it helps smoothen the application of other lip products as the wax of the lip balm creates a soft texture on the lips.

Cream beige wax balm

Texture?
Thick and creamy but non-sticky. I personally didn't quite fancy the creamy thickness of the lip balm because it felt uncomfortable as I was wearing it causing me to unconsciously lick it off whenever I can.

And unfortunately, the application on the lips wasn't as smooth on the lips as I hoped it would be. :(

Smell?
The lip balm has a really nice smell to it, sweet Vanilla scent which I find as one of the plus points of the product. You can really smell the delicious wax as you open the cap but the scent fades after being on your lips for a while; which can be a good thing as your nose wouldn't be overwhelmed with the Vanilla scent.

Taste?
Tasted just like an ordinary lip balm should taste - wax. No added flavors whatsoever.

Packaging?
The Paul Frank Lip Balm is slightly lighter and smaller in size as compared to the Mentholatum Lip Ice lip balm so it definitely feels less compact / solid. The one thing I find lacking in this product is the quality, which is such a bummer to how awesome it smells. The cap head didn't have the extra ring inside that 'clicks' to the body of the lip balm, so I am pretty sure after a few times of opening and closing  the cap, it will get loose and some point, fall off. :(

Besides that, the twisting mechanism to spin up the lip balm is a bit too small at the bottom. So I had a minor difficulty in gripping my fingers properly to turn it around. (Or maybe its just that my fingers are huge? =\ )

Price?
This lip balm is being sold at RM 12.90 (4g each tube) at common drugstores and beauty stores like Guardian, Watson's and Sasa. However, the Sasa outlet that I've been to at One Utama sold this at RM 18.90 instead. So, do buy this at drugstores if the other Sasa outlets are charging RM 6 extra!

Final thoughts?
This lip balm, I find good for just fun application as it doesn't really work its magic on me as a moisturizer. So I do not recommend this to anyone seeking to treat severe chapped lips and also, to those who don't appreciate thick, creamy textures (like me!) as you probably have to constantly reapply due to unconscious licking. I like the smell as it indeed smelt yummy but for price that it is being sold, I would prefer to have the quality better packaged to suit its prettiness!

As for now, I would still go back for my RM 9.90 Mentholatum Lip Ice range of products because it works just as well as I need a basic lip balm to work. ;)

Lip Trick: If you have a chapped lip that is bugging you constantly, causing you to tear when you laugh because it tore even more... apply your lip balm after your daily facial night care routine and sleep! When you wake up the next morning, your lips will be feeling pumped up and super moisturized! :)

Hey, I got the sample from a platform called Yuberactive. But unfortunately the sampling period for this particular product has ended. You can still purchase this lip balm at Watson's or Guardian if you are interested :)
